RE: Help with Y PB PR cables for PS2?

Answered

So I m trying to connect my old ps2 to my tv. I ve found a couple of cables, including the Y PB PR (yellow, red, white) cables for audio and video input I believe. however, My tv does not have a yellow input, so I put it in the green one. By doing this I got a black/white screen, and without sound. Does anyone know how to fix these issues? Also, I have a SCART connection although that did not seem to help either.

Yellow White Red cables are Composite Video + Audio.

Y PB PR are Component Video cables usually colored Red, Blue and Green. There will be an additional two cables for audio, White and a 2nd Red. Be sure you don’t connect the red audio cable to the red video port – it won’t work. 🙂

Most modern TVs have combined their Composite Video and Component Video inputs. Usually the green port doubles as the yellow video port but check your TV’s manual for details. Some TVs will still have a separate video inputs for Component and Composite – again, check the TV manual for details.

You can still get the Component Video cable set for the PS2 – it’s identical to the one that the PS3 uses.
