RE: Who is the Service of Process Agent for Travelers Insurance Company?
question whether it would be appropriate to sue Travelers. If you are a 3rd party claimant, then the appropriate party to sue is the one who wronged you, like maybe their insured. That’s true UNLESS you live in Wisconsin because in Wisconsin you would sue both their insured and the insurance company.
If you are an insured, you better double check your policy. Oftentimes disputes are required to be arbitrated. You can sue them for bad faith, but you need a pretty strong case to win, and most likely would need a lawyer.
Otherwise, the answer to your question is to check with the Secretary of State in your state. They will have listing of the Agent of Process for corporations. Make sure you have the correct name of the company because some insurance companies have multiple names because they have subsidiary insurance companies. Check your policy for the correct name of the company.
